Marquel Jordan

A Los Angeles native, Marqueal (pronounced Mar-KWELL) Jordan has been a fixture in the Chicago music scene since moving to Chicago in 1995. For seven years, Marqueal was the lead singer and saxophonist in the critically acclaimed Chicago Funk/R&B outfit, Fat Time. He has appeared on The Jenny Jones Show, the WGN Morning Show, and he’s performed with such diverse artists as Gerald Albright, Patti Austin, Rick Braun, Peabo Bryson, Will Downing, Aretha Franklin, Von Freeman, Larry Graham, Buddy Guy, KRS-ONE, Mike Phillips, David Sanborn and Corey Wilkes. Marqueal is also becoming a legend in the Steppers Music Scene with his hit “Grown & Sexy”, a collaboration with D.J. INC that has received major airplay on radio stations and in steppers’ clubs across the country. Marqueal is also the featured saxophonist and vocalist in the touring band of Smooth Jazz artist Brian Culbertson.

He is prominently featured in Brian’s current DVD/CD, “Live from the Inside”, released in November, 2009. Between tour dates Marqueal leads and performs with his own band, which showcases his distinct saxophone style and soulful vocals. Currently, Marqueal Jordan is in the process of working on his debut solo CD. It is scheduled for release in 2010.
