Tracey Anita Baker

Tracey Anita Baker is an extraordinary musician. She began playing the drums at the age of three and as time went on she moved on to the bass and the piano. Her uncanny ability to pick up an instrument and play by ear is truly a gift from God. She has truly captured the essence of "playing with purpose". She began her professional career at ETA Theater in 1993 playing the show folks series. Shortly after she moved to the main stage to play the award winning musical "This Far By Faith" which she produced a soundtrack for featuring Chicago's own Jennifer Hudson, Sue Conway, Roberta Thomas, Felicia Evans-Coleman and many more. This path led to an encounter with Ms. Jackie Taylor and the Black Ensemble Theater. Performances there include hits such as:The House That Rocked, "Ella" The First Lady of Song, "At Last" A Tribute to Etta James, Somebody Say Amen, Those Sensational Soulful 60's and the children's series Plays With A Purpose. In December, 2005 Tracey began to gain international acclaim traveling to Basel, Switzerland with Tina Brown on the Voices of Gospel tour. She's also had the privilege of touring with Andrew "Jr. Boy" Jones in Beijing, China and Ms. Sue Conway & The Victory Singers along with the Tuscany Orchestra in Florence, Italy.
